Sex/Life, a Romantic Drama on Netflix created by Stacy Rukeyser with Season 1 originally released June 25, 2021.
With Season 2 filming underway beginning February 9, 2022.
Billie Connelly, played by Sarah Sahi, is a suburban housewife living in Connecticut. Billie is married to Cooper Connelly, an investment banker, played by Mike Vogel.
Billie has a background in pschycology; she's transitioning from work to stay-at home mom for their two children. The transition throws Billie into a mid life crisis. Billie starts reminiscing about old times with her best friend, Sasha Snow, played by Margaret Odette. Remembering days and nights where she felt free, with no responsibilities. Back when Sasha and Billie went clubbing; Back when the scent of Brad Simon, played by Adam Damos, lingered in the air; and so it begins. The hunger and real need to revisit old times.
Causing Cooper to practically lose his mind, when he sneaks a peak inside Billie's private journal. Cooper's jealousy forces him to compete for Billie's attention. Going to extreme measures to check out his competition.
This first season has eight episodes, making it easy to watch. I rate this four out five stars for addressing taboo subject matter. In a modern world, some women still hide the truth. Torn between their love for family, and work. Weighing heavy guilt and public pressure with disregard to personal choices. In the midst, losing their own sense of self while trying to strive for the happily ever after full package.
